This area, once home to the second-largest leprosy settlement called the Valley of Hope, now thrives with beautiful nurseries which were once managed by leprosy patients, some of whom are still tending to the greenery.
@irfan After exploring the town area at Sg Buloh kampung baru, my wife actually said “I didn’t know Sg Buloh is so small” lol cuz she thought that’s the whole Sg Buloh 💀
@rakyat hahaha ya it’s freaking huge. People always assume I live v close by to Rawang just bcos I live in SGB when in reality Rawang is like over an hr away from me, while KL/Damansara is like 20+ mins
@irfan I know some people consider Kota Damansara as part of Sg Buloh too, not sure if it’s technically correct haha. Kajang where I live is probably no where as big but it’s still a big sprawling place with many, many townships despite the main town centre being quite small.
@rakyat yea KD is part of SgB, map-wise. A lot of places and roads in KD also still have their “old” names with Sg Buloh in them, to my understanding it wasn’t that long ago the “Kota Damansara” name came to life.
Honestly, too many Damansaras now I cannot count lol. KD’s a pretty active, friendly place tho so I approve its Damansara name whatever that means.
