I had been wanting to try a mechanical keyboard, but I was daunted by the dizzying array of choices of components and styles.
Then I was gifted a KBDcraft Adam. I like it a lot, but the keys are SO SENSITIVE! If I THINK about the "D" key, I have typed a whole line of Ds before I can stop it.
So, now that I have "established a baseline" of the Adam and its "S² Engine" switches, what switches or other mods should I consider to add a bit of travel or effort?
@inaction_figure get yourself a keycap puller and a switch puller, they'll make the whole process fairly easy.
The key thing when putting in the new switches is checking that both metal pins/legs of the new switches are straight and not bent, and inserting them slowly and straight to avoid messing up the hotswap sockets on the PCB.
@petejohanson One more question. Where do you buy them? I have done a couple searches, and looked on r/MechanicalKeyboards, and I'm thinking of going with mechanicalkeyboards.com.
I see they're on DigiKey as well, but their prices don't look good, unless it's more than one switch per "bag".
