Hello! Just ordered my first mechanical keyboard, Keychron V1. Pre shopping around for some keycaps. What are some good/reliable sites to order them from? There seems to be such a large range of websites online. I found a set that I like from flashquark. Is that a reputable site?

So I want to try out using an ANSI layout. I’ve been using ISO all my life but there just are so few keycaps supporting ISO… I was thinking of getting a Ducky One 3 Yellow SF and putting Kalih Box Navy Switches in it and combining that with a Akko Black & Bronze ASA keycap set. I initially wanted to get the Akko Starry Night...
I change out my switches frequently, and I’m looking for a tool that’s better than the free ones I’ve received over the years. Something that is robust, less likely to bend or break, is comfortable to use, and does a good job. Extra points if it’s cool looking, or comes in orange.

First Custom Keyboard I have ever built. It's a Nullbits Snap with two Bit-C Pro MCUs and a Custom TRRS Cable from AliExpress, the Keycaps are also some random AliExpress ones. It was also my first time soldering so it was a great overall learning experience.
Hullo everyone, I’m looking at silent tactile switches and for sure one of the most recommended is the the Gazzew U4. I see that the white “Boba” housing plastic has been changed to a new one with better discoloration resistance. Does anyone have esperience with the new version? Particularly regarding scratchiness, I have...
I have a DURGOD Hades 68 keyboard that I’d love to spruce up with some custom caps. However, I’m not sure where to start with making sure a cap set will fit my board....
I wonder what ideas could come up, but important for me is that it supports QMK firmware and maybe bluetooth....
Yo everyone! I have questions about using cheap and generic mechanical keyboards. For example the Royal Kludge RK61 which has wired, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connections. My host will be Linux machines. Do you see any security issues with using keyboards like that or were there any incidents of such devices being malicious?...
Just broke my third Ducky Keyboard. Two of them died to a few drops of liquid, The third fell on wooden floor from a height of about 1m. While my cheap-o mechanical keyboard has bathed in coffee, been yanked off my desk multiple times by its cable getting pulled by my chairs armrest and survived without any damage.
I have have been using my pteron36 layout for long time, wanted to have a unified experience of mouse and keyboard without the mouse keys. So added a trackpad https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/b7006f61-eca1-46db-9bf7-5c944d8b2b7b.jpeg
Hello, I'm looking for any custom keyboard/pcb that requires the components to be soldered directly to it, and uses a atmega32u4. I happen to have a promicro board that I ripped the USB connector and traces from it, so with this new spare chip I was looking to try building something :)...
Hi everyone, I have a plank (v6 I think), and I kinda regretted having the 2u key instead of 2x1u (although I love it aesthetically, I would rather have two keys) Here comes the issue, the stabilizer is board mounted, so I can't just desolder the switch and take it out, but I would have to desolder everything to remove the...

I'm using Boba U4s at home and enjoying them, but I'm looking to build something new for work and I'm assessing my options....
I know.. it's horrible, I need a replacement. But this board almost perfectly fills my use case of usage from the couch on my TV/Monitor, wireless, full size (numpad needed for work stuff), balances great on my lap, or across my legs when sitting in weird positions on the couch cross-legged or one leg tucked. Built in Wrist rest...
I have a CM MK750 at home which I love and recommend to my friends, however I'm spending more and more time outside the house and now I'm looking for something to take on the go. Does anyone have recommendations?...
I’ve seen these mentioned in a few places as a promising new budget option, but there’s very little commentary on them. They come in linear and tactile varieties with different spring weights available. Is the factory lube decent?...
I love custom mechanical keyboards but is the wider community limiting itself by only sticking to MX switches? I know there are projects out there for custom topre, space invader, and alps. But with all the research the community has done, why hasn't something truly unique come to market yet?...
do they only affect the individual keycaps or the profile of the whole board? like let's say oem are sharp and XDA are rounded, but is there a difference between the height of the rows?
I have a work laptop and a personal desktop. I usually use my PC to listen to music or have youtube on in the background while I work. I currently use a Keychron K2. I leave my K2 plugged into my desktop for charging, but will have it connected via bluetooth to my work laptop. That way, I can just use the BT/off/Cable switch on...
I've been wanting to try an ergo split keyboard but there are so many options....
Looking for a Bluetooth mech to use with my media center on the couch. What are some of your favorites? I'm looking at the AnnePro 2.
