Flying in the slipstream of 1997's four-quartered Envane, Quaristice was the first Autechre release I caught as it happened. Pretty sure it was in the buildup that Mary Anne Hobbs whetted my appetite by playing 'Simmm' on the radio. And I once toyed with 'chenc9' in Pure Data for an unstaged show of The Wizard of Oz!
