@msquebanh Beautiful! Shooting Stars were always my favorite wildflowers when we lived in the 5000’ foothills of Wyoming’s Big Horn Mountains. They look so delicate, but they endured all the harsh conditions of a Wyoming spring, including extreme winds & very deep, heavy, wet snow. I had no idea they grow on Vancouver Island! ☺️💜
@Laloofah They are so gorgeous & quite hardy. I usually see the ones above in early Spring. There's a striped variety that grows here too. These are in Thetis Lake regional park 😊
@Pollinators So many medicines, sourced from nature are still yet to be discovered. I talked about how old growth forests are one of our future medicine chests & why that & other equally important reasons, are why we should protect ancient forests - in 2 different documentaries I was in. Our government & ecocide industries, are very foolish & short-sighted with clear-cutting our disappearing old growth tracts. By doing so, they're robbing the world from many future cures for illness/diseases.
