Just to make an important distinction, Trump's lawyers submitted a notice of appeal which shows their intent to appeal the ruling. They actually haven't posted the bond to actually do this yet but many news sites are glossing over this detail.

Looks like they replaced Alina Habba with a fake once!

reddig33,

Is this one of those appeals where he has to pre-pay the original judgement (or more likely put up ten percent as a bond)?

NocturnalMorning,

Supposedly he cannot appeal unless he comes up with the entire judgement amount.

RunningInRVA,

The article states he can appeal, but to pause the enforcement of the judgement against him during the appeal he must either post a bond or somehow get a stay on the judgement from the court.

GroundedGator,

Judgement was entered on 2024-02-22. He has 30 days from that date to start paying. Interest started already, calculated daily at 9%. Without putting the full amount plus interest and speculated interest, collection can start 30 days after judgement regardless of any appeal that is ongoing. Drumph could also post the bond before the 30 days is up.

Also worth noting the due date for the 83M judgement in the Carroll definition case is due 2024-02-28, and an appeal had not been filled in that case.

Fapper_McFapper,

Won’t someone rid us of this meddlesome politician?

Wish I could do this with my bills and never pay them like he does.
