NocturnalMorning,

In my completely unprofessional opinion…no.

NocturnalMorning,

We’re actually going through the 6th mass extinction right now, so actually we are kinda killing most everything on the pla et, not just us.

We should want to preserve that. Unfortunately a handful of old rich dudes don’t care.

I understand they want closure and to prevent this from happening again, but suing a video game publisher bcz of depictions of guns is a bit of a reach.

There’s research to back this up, video games do not cause violence.

NocturnalMorning, (edited )

This is a really dumb take. The onus of birth control should not be only on the women.

NocturnalMorning,

I didn’t call them dumb, I called the statement a really dumb take, not the same thing.

NocturnalMorning,

There really is no way to respond to this but with more fervor. The climate isn’t going to get less worse bcz they are arresting people. It’s up to us to take a stance and force politicians to take the climate crisis serious. The people are in charge, not the other way around.

NocturnalMorning,

Is this how he tries to stay in power forever?

I was a bit young when nes, and snes came out. I am still quiet fond of super mario world 2. But my favorite consoles, hands down are N64, PS1, and PS2. They were really just figuring out open world gaming back then, and they hadn’t yet figured our how to make every game constantly online, and/or gaming as a service.

I will say though, a lot of the old games I used to love don’t hold up as well playing them as an adult. They are either super hard, or have weird camera and controls, especially 007 GoldenEye for N64.

Another one that turned out to be tedious and hard is Zelda Ocarina of Time, which really surprised me. I thought the game was the greatest game ever as a kid.

NocturnalMorning,

Can confirm, my professor wife say yes, this is what she does.

NocturnalMorning,

The issue is that they actually said that. There should never have been a video in the first place.

Whatever happened to lemmy.film?

It had a few niche communities I would occasionally post to after the Reddit exodus but a couple months later I would post there and get no responses or votes. Going to lemmy.film now gives me an error message. Did they decide to shut it down or combine with another instance similar to FMHY? I am curious if they gave some kind...

Ask Lemmy is for questions.

Is this not a question? It’s literally called, no stupid questions.

NocturnalMorning,

Regardless, seems a little weird to be spoofing phone numbers and trying to get a child kicked off a cheerleading squad.

She’s the adult (woman is 50 years old) here and should have acted like one. Instead, she attempted to bully and slander a child to get her kicked off the cheerleading squad.

NocturnalMorning,

Why didn’t it start with an offline mode?

Nasa doesnt do a lot of propulsion stuff anymore to my knowledge. A lot of that has been outsourced to contract companies like SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, etc.

They’re more in the business of mission operations these days, with some component building in the side. At least as far as my experience has been, that’s been the case.

NocturnalMorning,

Godot is my goto engine for 2D and 2.5D stuff. It’s fairly easy to pick up, it’s free, and open source, and there’s plenty or tutorials for it.

It uses GDscript which is a python like language, so it’s not too difficult to learn. That’s usually my recommendation to newbies.

But, I’d say try different things, and you’ll figure out what you like personally. You may find something totally different suits your personal taste and interests best.

Amazingly enough after Canada legalized weed our country didn’t instantly fall into anarchy.

Republicans Flock to Trump’s Trial, Risking Control of the House Floor (www.nytimes.com)

"The House was in session at the Capitol on Thursday, but thanks to the latest procession of Republicans reporting for duty in front of a Manhattan criminal courthouse to show support for former President Donald J. Trump at his trial, the party risked ceding its control of the floor,” the New York Times reports....

NocturnalMorning,

God I hate that we treat politics like sports teams now.

NocturnalMorning,

Nah, we treat it like sports teams, that goes for pretty much everyone. Maybe one side more than the other, but make no mistake, both parties treat it like sports teams.

NocturnalMorning,

I mean I’m not wrong. I don’t care about downvotes at all. Thanks for commenting and wasting your time letting me know though.

NocturnalMorning,

I never said which way I would vote. I completely agree that one side has gone full fascist. That doesn’t mean we don’t treat it like sports. It just so happens right now we have a state of politics in the U.S. right now where if you vote third party you’re basically throwing away your vote making it more likely the Republicans win the elections.

That doesn’t detract from my point, or make it invalid. We really need ranked choice voting, and then maybe we could stop treating it like sports teams.

NocturnalMorning,

I’d rather emulate myself than give nintendo money for their crappy online emulator.

NocturnalMorning,

I highly doubt they used those cables maliciously knowing they’d go out right when the warranty expired. It was probably a cost thing, and they later realized (too late to fix it) during production sometime that the cables were a warranty issue.

Engineers don’t do thing maliciously with their designs. They pick things based on cost, and probably even raised the cable length as a risk/concern during the design and testing phase, and were overruled by the bean counters.

It’s happened to me before.

NocturnalMorning,

I’m just suggesting a probable scenario. I would be really surprised if this was malicious.

NocturnalMorning,

I’m fine not having this conversation anymore. I just gave a perspective from an engineer. No need to continue shitting on me. I’m not even defending the practice.
