@Freso I know a good bit about communism and revolutionary movements in the Middle East and North Africa but the former’s heyday was years ago; the latter being beaten down by autocrats. When not caught in the crisis news cycle I do post when I find items (as from MERIP or Jadaliyya or others- but I don’t see much on Mastodon.

@Sherifazuhur Do you post about how those movements use (or don’t use) free software and/or free culture as part of their struggles? I’m specifically looking for sources discussing the intersection of free software/culture (movements) and radical liberation(/liberatory movements).

@Freso my interest is in the subaltern in the MENA - many of whom are illiterate, and political, social and religious movements in the MENA.
