Welp, I went ahead and bought the revised core books. I don't have any immediate plans to run or play this game, so I'll hold off buying the physical books until either this changes or a round or two of errata have been incorporated into the print runs.

Still, I've decided to take a leave of absence from buying after the fiasco earlier this year, and if I ever do want to write some stuff in the same niche, this game is probably my best bet.

@juergen_hubert uh I enjoyed the ruleset of Pathfinder in the game PathFinder - Wraith of the Righteous (and its predecessor game) so much.

@tomtrottel Well, I've played the Pathfinder 1E rules often enough, but it's a derivative of D&D 3.5 - with all the warts that implies.

But Pathfinder 2E works a lot smoother, and is much easier to GM for (which is an important criterium for me, since I am the GM more often than not.)

@juergen_hubert That, or go for the OSR books and make it more systemless.

I've been avoiding D&D too. They've gotten really good at burning bridges.

@cynical13 While I like certain OSR worldbuilding tools (I'll buy most Sine Nomine Publishing books unseen), I can't say that I am a fan of the OSR rules as such.

@juergen_hubert that' fair. I have mixed feelings myself. I appreciate the simpler mechanics and rules but the higher lethality concerns me some.

@cynical13 I have other rule systems entirely for when I want "simpler mechanics" (currently I am running / ).

But for -esque games, I prefer a certain mechanical "heft".
