A row of lampposts in the heart of Barrhaven. Hmm, heart sounds too passionate. Maybe the kidney of Barrhaven?

david_megginson,

@NuanceRhymesWithOrange Wide sidewalks and lots of shops, but no humans visible. Are they filming a post-apocalyptic movie where alien robot cars have killed all the humans and taken over the earth?

@david_megginson Well, to be fair, this is actually one of the walkable spots in Barrhaven, and it is right on the Transitway. You don't have to drive between stores. Few pedestrians in the photo, because the stores weren't open yet.

The problem is with the rest of Barrhaven.

david_megginson,

@NuanceRhymesWithOrange I haven't been there. Is it like Kanata Centrum or Lansdowne (creepy, fake-high-street Midwich Cuckoos vibe), or more of a real shopping street?

@david_megginson It is still a sea of parking lots, but it works better than Kanata or, say, Merivale Road. It has the transitway and a mix of shop sizes. There is some residential right on the edge. It is not a destination to visit, but it is decent if you live nearby. It appears to be successful, not many empty spots. Unlike Kanata.
