Nikon announces Z 180-600mm F5.6-6.3 VR and Z 70-180mm F2.8

I was a Nikon shooter for a long while, starting with a Nikon F100 in the film days (something about that camera just felt so right to use), and while I've moved over to Micro Four Thirds, I still like to see what Nikon are up to. The Z lenses line up has been pretty interesting, except for the Tamron rebrands (because taking them, slapping the Nikon logo and charging a 30% markup just doesn't sit well with me). The 180-600 in particular looks like a nice upgrade from the 200-500/5.6. While it's quite a bit more expensive than the predecessor, the extra reach and potentially better image quality from the MTF might make it worth the increased cost. Oh and it's also a little lighter than the older lens.

Now if only there were a Z version of the D500...

Badabinski,

Christicles did a preview over on Petapixel: https://youtu.be/o5Rkc-ePn28

Interesting that at no point that he mentions the sony 200-600. It seems to me like they're very similar, would love to see a comparison.
