i'm a 30-something noodle (they/them) who's into #pokemon, anime, manga, 2d idols (esp. #lovelive and #idolish7 ), #rpdr, mech keyboards, and a bunch of other stuff!
been lurking the local timeline for a few days and everyone seems super cool and chill :hamsterdance: excited to be here!
@noodle of course I don't mind!! honestly I want to get deeper into idol stuff. I've watched a smattering, but haven't gone super deep into one, you know? unless symphogear counts as idol...but I don't know that it quite does!
I've seen love live SIP and loved it, so hope to watch all of the rest soon!
I've watched all of the idolm@ster adpatations and really enjoyed them, but I feel like not playing the games (for health reasons, alas) keeps me from being an "idolm@ster fan" you know?
@noodle idolish is definitely on my radar, though probably after love live
oh and I really loved shine post from a few seasons ago but there's not much content. an amazing cour of idol anime though...and I've enjoyed the D4DJ show, plus some other stuff. so I sort of broadly enjoy idol anime just haven't gone super deep. I want to go deeper!!! but not being able to play mobile games is a big limiter, and I feel like love live for example is already such a mature fandom...
@ojou i feel you! in my case, i love playing idol mobages, but i don't really pay attention to the in-game story so i miss a lot of stuff 😂 so i usually can only get into an idol series if they have a proper anime, haha.
i haven't watched symphogear, but somehow "it maybe counts as idol?" kinda piques my interest lol (quietly puts it into my to-watch list...)

LL has new groups now, and i know people who only became fans recently! i feel like there are a lot of different LL fan types, like i'm in the anime+mobage camp, while a friend of mine is strictly anime-only, and another is really into the seiyuu streams and stuff. i love that we're all different but we can talk forever about LL haha.
i personally think i7 has a really good story and character development, so i totally recommend it! also, their songs are absolute bangers :blobHappy:
@noodle where do you usually talk about LL? I think if I found a good community I'd be highly motivated to prioritize finishing it :D
and I'd be curious if you'd like symphogear. I love the music! but the show itself is...something. I mean I love it but it's sort of a love it or hate it thing. very over the top, sort of deus ex machina on top of deus ex machina, very hype etc. worth checking out at the very least!
@ojou mainly privately unfortunately! i also have an account over the japanese LL instance (mstdn.schoolidol.club), though i'm not very active there. there are also a couple LL discord servers if that's something you're interested in! (they're not for me though, discord is waaaaay too fast-paced haha)
