Please start a lemmy or kbin community group, with the goal of eventually turning it into your new primary group, and start encouraging the Reddit users to move there.
Don't wait until Reddit looks like Twitter; get ahead of that curve.

Funny enough eelo is the -old- name.. eelo, eOS, Murena : with each attempt at finding a new name to replace the unfortunate previous one, we end up adding one more name to the collection of legacy names still in use instead of replacing it once and for all..

@gael@masterbuck@kiudecan people searching for help online, in my experience /e/os is too strange (with the two slashes) and too generic (just one letter) to be well referenced by search engines or social networks 😅
Also I'm doing flash parties in Lyon, and orally there is 2 way of prononce it ([e] or [eu]), and some non-tech people confuse it with "iOS"
One can reasonably pronounce it ("twhxcvmplwx" is a bad name)
One can search for it ("m" is a bad name, "&m&" too)
Murena is perfect, /e/ OS kind of sucks. As it happens, 10min ago I wanted to go read the changelog for my update 1.12.3, and gave up because I remembered that every single time it annoys me.

Instead, they tell their friends, "I have a Murena phone" and the friends will look up for Murena, and notice that Murena also has a foundation that may allow them to get the Murena experience on a phone they already have
@Dricc@gael@masterbuck@kiudecan it's a very specific scenario. A more common scenario I'm frequently facing is someone asking for an altertive OS for they phone, and me saying "eos" then spelling "slash e slash os", then the person making me repeat 😐
(not mentioning all the problem for searching support online I mentionned in my other toot)
But okay if Murena is the entry point as you are saying, then it needs to be called Murena OS and everyone will be happy 👍
