@veronica from where does qt/novelwriter get the font for that bottom status info below the text? (line 15, words 520 in the image). i find it weird to have it in serif while the rest of the interface is sans-serif (my editor font is a serif one though).
@oli The header and footer of the document follows the font and colour settings of the document itself since they are visually a part of the document. I'm uncertain what exactly would be the best look here.
@veronica i think it looks a bit weird when there's a mix of serif/non-serif font like this. seems to me the header and footer are more part of the interface then part of the document itself, but that might be just me. not sure if other people also prefer writing in serif fonts or if that's me showing my age hahaha >.<
@oli The footer is a part of the editor window though, so if it doesn't match the document, some may think that is weird too. I don't actually know what's best. I use the same font for both. 😊
@veronica i like to change my writing font every once in a while, for some reason it helps me see my text differently. i suppose what you're saying makes sense too, at least now i know there's a logic to it :blobeyes:
@oli I had a look in the code. Basically, it sets the text font you've chosen for the entire editor. If I set it only for the document within the editor, the header and footer font stays as the GUI font.
Using the GUI font looks fine as well, so I don't mind changing it. Could you just create a feature request for it if you have time, and I can make the change? It's a two line fix. 😁
