The setting to show only threads from your subscriptions, favourites, and moderated magazines on the kbin front page does not work on mobile
This now appears to be fixed.
Missing and delayed content from outside Fediverse instances. This is due to capacity issues causing a backlog, and it's being worked on.
Notifications sometimes arrive late.
The reputation system is weird and doesn't make sense. It's currently under review by the site admin.
Should you create accounts on other Fediverse sites?
Simple answer: it depends. Technically it shouldn't be necessary, because in theory you should be able to view and interact with the entire Fediverse through a single kbin account.
But in practice kbin is going through some teething problems at the minute, meaning some federated sites aren't synchronising as well as they should be, and others simply don't show up no matter how you search for them.
So if you are desperate to interact with a federated community outside of kbin I recommend creating an account, even if it's just for now. It won't be ideal having to juggle multiple accounts, but probably worth it if you want the full community experience.
If you wish to avoid accidentally stumbling across some extremely vile, distressing, and possibly even illegal content, I highly recommend blocking the following domain: lemmynsfw.com
@Friend
I believe I had blocked it a day or two before. I reblockded it this morning and haven’t seen any new ones show up. They are usually there in the morning if they show up.
Select the image icon adjacent to the 'Add post' button. Don't bother with the icon above the text box, it doesn't seem to work.
Select choose file and navigate to the image on your device. Do not touch any of the other buttons on this box. You can tap away from it if you need to and it will remember the file you chose. Then simply use the 'Add post' button.
Unfortunately there is no convenient way to do it. But here's a workaround:
Find your comment via your profile. Select 'more' then long press 'copy url' until a pop up appears. You can then choose how you wish to view the link. 'Preview page' seems to be the fastest.
@Friend Having my upvote or boost history public is a bridge too far. I and I'm sure MANY other users will not be willing to allow randos to peruse your activity like that. I'm out until this is changed.
How to get notified when someone replies to your thread or comment:
Select your username in the top right, choose 'Settings' (or 'Profile') from the dropdown, scroll to 'Notifications' and put a checkmark in the top 4 options.
How to see a list of all the magazines you are subscribed to:
Select your username in the top right, choose 'Settings' (or 'Profile') from the dropdown, and (on mobile) scroll to the right on the horizontal menu and select 'subscriptions'.
Select the burger menu icon (three horizontal lines in the top left corner), tap the triangular icon, and in the 'FEDERATION' section toggle the status 'Yes' or 'No' to enable or disable.
@Friend Can you clarify what this actually does? I figured toggling it off would mean only seeing things from kbin.social but it seems to make no difference in my feed either way
