W Series Finally Collapses After Entering Administration

A sad day in the world of motorsport and everyone hoping for more female participation in it. After several months of radio silence from W Series since its third season abruptly ended, it appears to be the end for the all-female championship as administrators were called into the business yesterday. It had cancelled the final three races planned after its appearance at F1's Singapore Grand Prix last September due to financial trouble. Jamie Chadwick, who's now racing in IndyCar feeder series Indy NXT, was crowned champion for a third time. Despite CEO of the series Catherine Bond Muir claiming there.

I heard about this first on Abbey Eaton's Instagram. Gutted to hear it won't be continuing.

There is at least a 'replacement' of sorts coming in the form of 'F1 Academy' with Susie Wolff as the managing director

@ymhr yeah I kind of feel like the academy is a step down in terms of visibility and competition (especially being f4 level). Their races were televised live and had more viewership than f3 and f2 some weekends.

The academy gets a post race highlight, and very little press.

Not saying either series is the silver bullet, I think I'd rather see more female drivers supported in the main series at a high level.

That's interesting, I didn't know that; in all honesty I didn't know the academy had even started which I think speaks to your point even more!
