Yes, the choice is in the system boundaries. We choose on what part of the complex universe we'll focus--at least for now. Even when we isolate a subsystem that is quite simple, it's worth asking ourselves what might be the unintended consequences of our actions in the larger complex (or chaotic) system of which that simple subsystem is a part.
