@DJDarren Voted yes. Grew up in Southampton but the only place where I've heard a young relative mention the word is - wait for it - Portsmouth. Never ever heard it anywhere else and only once (and that's a long time ago).
@DJDarren That was the only place where there was an Asda locally for many years, at least until they obtained a load of ex-Gateway stores such as the one in Southampton centre and at Chandlers Ford.
It’s quite common where I’m from, used instead of “idiot”. Turns out it’s likely got its roots in Romani, which makes sense given our proximity to the New Forest.
But if it is Romani, I’m surprised that it’s not more widespread, what those people’s tendency to, y’know, travel.
