Hi @tschenkel, juliaup was created around 2021. There is some history here: https://github.com/abelsiqueira/jill/issues/33.

I never used it, but from what I understand:

• Juliaup supports all OSs.
• Jill works with Linux and OSX, and it might work with WSL, but I don't give any support for Windows.
• Juliaup is written in Rust
• Jill is written in Bash
• Juliaup is a large project with many features.
• Jill is lightweight with simple goals.
• Juliaup has >1 maintainer
• Jill has 1 maintainer
