@jeffjarvis@davekarpf this is a brilliant critique. Side note: I immediately thought of The Californian Ideology and was happy to see it mentioned - it remains as relevant as ever (Richard and Andy were my lecturers at uni - I remember the moment they wrote it).
@jeffjarvis@davekarpf First thing of which this reminded me: All the Nobel prize winners who won for something they did in their 20s, then spent the rest of their lives Being The Expert.
It is possible he was an iconoclast or a maverick when he was younger. Now of course, he's not Sticking it to the Man. He is The Man.
