Was reminded earlier of a story my father used to tell. According to Dad, my grandfather used to say that my grandmother "nodded" him into marriage.
I wish I still remembered all the examples given, but it went something like, she commented "nice weather we're having isn't it?" And grandfather nodded.
And so on as she made small talk and he nodded until she said something along the lines of "we should get married," and he nodded before realizing.
Dad always said his mother didn't particularly appreciate that version of events. 🥸😆 But she also never offered her own story...
