Parachuteless WW2 pilot jumps to what he expects will be his death, only to find he's survived the fall - due to an administrative cock-up in Heaven. Which now wants him back. Everything on Earth plays out in eyeball-popping Technicolor; everything in Heaven in vivid Black&White. The whole film is an endlessly entertaining box of delights and wonders.
Was reminded earlier of a story my father used to tell. According to Dad, my grandfather used to say that my grandmother "nodded" him into marriage.
I wish I still remembered all the examples given, but it went something like, she commented "nice weather we're having isn't it?" And grandfather nodded.
And so on as she made small talk and he nodded until she said something along the lines of "we should get married," and he nodded before realizing.
Dad always said his mother didn't particularly appreciate that version of events. 🥸😆 But she also never offered her own story...
