@krisbuytaert I sympathize.

I submitted as soon as I could earlier this week and this might not be the case for everyone but:

1. I was overwhelmed by other things. Since the deadline was further away, I de-prioritized it to take care of the other things. Sorry.

2. The FOSDEM devrooms were recently announced with some CFPs still not opened.

The camp CFP has been opened for a long time but the devrooms had not yet been decided.

I wonder if more overlap would've been beneficial ?

@krisbuytaert can't do much about my personal circumstances, sorry.

For FOSDEM, I say this since for many folks, their attendance to the camp depends on whether they get to travel to FOSDEM at all.

This depends on a lot of factors, including stands, devrooms, the CFP and such.

These explanations are logical and rational, though. Some will wait at the last minute because that's what they do.

@rfc2549 Some will also wait until the last minute because they've been sitting on, thinking about, and tinkering with their proposal for weeks, because they care about what they submit, and prefer to do that sort of thing in a local text file rather than in one of the bajillion talk submission portals they deal with.
