Sunset Geometry
Happy Thursday! Who liked geometry at school? Actually, I did. This is full of just the sort of lines and shapes that I grew to love in those classes. A sunset picked these elements out perfectly, at the same time putting a rosie glow on the school - a colour I don't imagine many kids asssociate with school.I hope this brings back some good memories of fun times.

@EllieK I didn't like it in school, which cost me time in my own profession. I won't say I like it, I might say I was forced into it for a time ,LOL

@Rasta
I was fortunate to have a gifted teacher who taught algebra and geometry, both of which I loved. After him came another teacher of trig and calculus, which I never made head or tail of. It just shows... but as I never had a career per se, this didn't matter in my case.

@EllieK I had an old engineer that taught it, and said, I don't get it all either but let's go over it until you do! LOL, I never had any real help with maths, I only had three or 4 teachers in my school years who were worthy of acknowledgement, that treated me well and helped me. The rest just strapped me daily

@Rasta
What a waste. And such a shame.

@EllieK They didn't know any better. They never even named ADHD until I was a petty officer in the Navy, in school they called it daydreaming. A few teachers, knew I needed special attention and stayed back after class to help me, and I never forgot those teachers. That lady died when I was in the next grade, and we went to her funeral. Decades later in Church, I met her husband, now remarried and was able to share how much she was appreciated as one of the only teaches I know that cared

@Rasta
I'm sure your treatment was devastating for a sensitive little boy. Kudos to you for overcoming the treatment and making a success of your life, presumably contrary to expectations.

@EllieK today one of my teachers would have been in jail. Decided to haul my pants down and spank my bare bottom. She was young and pretty, it's a wonder I didn't develop a spanking fetish like happened to ADHD Trump 😂

@Rasta
Such teachers are few and far between, they are to be treasured. So sad that she died, young I guess.

@EllieK true but she made a lasting impression. Those memories will last forever. A male teacher many years later was also pretty good and taught me a lot of life skills. But the majority of them just treated me as a problem child. As a matter of fact the first year in the Navy I went back to my school in Germany and ask the vice principal when he was turned around how I enrolled for the next term, when he turned around he addressed me by name & asked what my sister's name was the honor student

@EllieK they forgot that she pulled in straight A's but they remembered me. Everybody did. And there are horrible memories to go right back to primary. My great primary teacher was going to fail me because I couldn't color between the lines, and the grade one teacher, a big woman, said to the 5-year-old boy and if you do graduate I don't want you in my class

@Rasta
Terrible. Terrible. Criminal.
