@drahardja this reads a lot like #NotMyProblem and maybe the Oil & Gas industry in the state will have to run as a #Nonprofit until the cleanup is complete. Don’t like that idea? Piss Poor Prior Planning! Do what you must with those corporate bootstraps and show that you care for once.
@AngryAtheistTruckDriver Maybe nationalize oil companies and revoke all executive bonuses and stock buybacks, and put 100% of profits into cleaning up and fully funding a cleanup fund for any remaining sites.
@drahardja Jared Diamond makes the case in Collapse that mining is only profitable because of externalities. If you factored in cleanup costs from the start, none of it would make money.
