😅 Two types of #GameDevs: Those who backup because they've lost data, and those who will... after they lose data! Just did my quarterly backup. Tedious but better safe than sorry! 🎮💾 How's your backup game going?
@vertexrage Have not had the misfortune of experiencing data loss myself, but there is no shortage of horror stories to take inspiration from ;)
I finished updating our cold storage backup today. Aside from that we do daily versioned backups of everything, plus integrity check, and daily sync of all backups with an off-site location.
All backups are stored on self-repairing file systems with a two-drive failure tolerance.
@AngryAnt Ofc. But that's what cloud is for to prevent. The quarterly is a ritual when I take an extra step to grab all the data and put it on external hdds.
