Sanity check request: five-line metro (four radial, one circle along the obvious alignment), 159 km total length - is that a good fit for Amman metro crayon, or is it too little for how big the city is, which is 4 million plus 1 million in the suburbs?

@Alon how much can they build in 5 years? Everything that won't be complete in 5 years should look like a kid drew it with crayons. looks are important, when it looks professional you get a different debate where people look at details not the big picture.

So if their budget is do this all fast then crayon a few more lines. If the budget is do this over 20years make the most important part look good and the rest obviously like we haven't setteled on the route but something like this mark.

@bluGill None; there are some aborted plans to build a metro, but the only thing that's progressing is a few low-ridership BRT lines.

@Alon
I'm no actual expert, but it sounds reasonable?
All four radial lines have direct interchanges with eachother and the circle line goes outside those interchanges, each radial line thus having 5 interchange stations in the core?
And pencilled in placements for at least 2-3 more lines?

@YimbyEarth Yep. Four more lines, each interpolating between two radials.
