Is there something like a head count model which could be used to clarify how many ppl attended a demonstration with areal pics? Has this been trained already?

@aramba if it's just about one image: OpenCV can do it but if you look for "crowd estimation" or "people counter" you'll get many results

@tante ok ja, will check but prolly it needs to be from video capturing a whole demo walking by ( or drone flying around)

I find it really tiring how news outlets (not) report about numbers.

@aramba there's a few non-commercial solutions for video but they don't track people but basically count "entering the frame" without understanding who they saw before. There are commercial solutions but they are expensive

@tante so would Fotos like this to analyze with open cv or needs more resolution?

@aramba Probably not good for openCV (too few faces), one could try one of these models: https://paperswithcode.com/task/crowd-counting

@tante ok. Ja what I thought. Is not abt faces but heads/ shoulders (?) will have a look

@aramba you mean counting heads in one image or keeping track of people over multiple images?
