How about instead of investing in a technology that doesnt exist yet we just idk put that money into like all the energy systems - including current gen nuclear - that, well, do exist? Techbro brain "it only exists if I invented it" is cute when its reinventing messaging protocols, not so cute when its a TESCREAL doomsday cult
