Sorting out my cd collection that's been languishing underneath the pinballs (also now sold) to get ready to give to the charity shop (if they'll take them).

It's like throwing away my youth.

@llamasoft_ox I started importing game soundtrack CDs from Japan and ripping them to MP3s, but I found the whole process of ripping music and organising it with tags etc so stressful that I bought a new CD player and I love it! It's also a wireless/bluetooth streaming thing, and a DAB radio all in one

I have to put albums on now, rather than jabbing my phone screen. Retro

@llamasoft_ox I've been putting that job off for years now. Literally thousands of them going back to the mid 80s. Need the space though so going to have to do it soon :( I feel the same way

@LordIffyBoatrace yeah it does feel weird but they've got to go, they are just taking up space and I don't even have a CD player for audio any more. Not even an optical drive on the PC.

They might as well go somewhere that someone might find them and enjoy the music, or else they'll just never see the light of day and degrade away.

benjohn,

@llamasoft_ox @LordIffyBoatrace As someone who's switched over to streaming and sold their CD collection (A lovely indy record shop took them), I do sometimes regret it, TBH. Would quite like to just stick on an album and listen, sometimes. But if it's the right thing, go for it!
