Fun in the sun today playing with this RFM69 radio shield from Adafruit. Vert900 antenna, not the best fit, but seeing nice reception over a distance, even non-LoS. Will test LoS with simple wire antenna.
CircuitPython has come along way, making prototyping easy. As a whole, a great platform for off grid sensor networks and low baud comms.
