josephcox,

New from 404 Media: 4chan is now using AI to put clothes back on women they deem "undignified." It's a bizarre, and equally sexist, flip side to the nude generating deepfake apps

uoxc,

@josephcox this seems like a really clever piece of art, actually?

Ignoring the cultural context this originates from for a second. Imagine the exact same piece in an art gallery.

Undressing people digitally feels reflexively immoral, because it basically boils down to creating pornography without consent.

But putting them into clothes, or changing what they're wearing?
It's not porn anymore. Does it still feel bad? Why? Does the motivation of the act matter in how you judge it? Should it? If so, does that make the act evil, or the motivation?
