The survey team has preliminarily determined the likely cause of the Sol 3 ["Terra"/"Earth"] (Galactic Index: 4940392-392392-140392-292) extinction event, which we estimate occurred approximately 24000 planetary orbits ago, between our scheduled and surveys of the sector.

Records extracted from a storage facility deep in a natural mine strongly suggest that a global "DNS" failure triggered the planetary extinction over a period of no more than 30 revolutions of the planet.

Unfortunately, we do not yet know more specifics about "DNS", and are operating under the assumption it had some reference to nuclear or biological warfare agents.

We are continuing to analyze the retrieved data. This is a slow process however, even using the galactic central computplex, since the data is heavily biased with trillions of photo and video images of the ruling species of the planet, which called itself a "Meow".

We will keep the survey office updated of course. - Bylex-Tomol-Zolum-Blub-090-03190-S
