CaptainLeif161,

@PuppyFromLosAndes when I say "bully" I mean that I am hounded online pretty regularly by cis people who say really horrific things to me because they think that will get me to vote for Biden. Here are some things I have been told by cis liberals...

  • if Trump wins, you're gonna end up in a concentration camp, and I am just gonna point and laugh
  • when the fascists take control, it's gonna be your fault
  • when the fascists kill you and all your friends, you will only have yourself to blame
  • you're a fucking idiot if you can't choose between the lesser of two evils
  • even though you transitioned, you're still voting with your vagina

I am pretty much impossible to influence in this way, but I don't really have a word for it other than bullying, because it's childish and petty.

You mentioned Hitler, so let's take a look at how he came to power, and then at the history of fascism in general.

The German Social Democrats enabled his rise. They took action against anti-fascists who had actual solutions to stop the Nazis, accusing these anti-fascists of being foreign agents and/or other inflammatory things, and many of them voted for Hitler themselves. The GSDs are very much analogous to our own modern Democrats; we can see this clearly in the way, Nancy Pelosi accuses young protesters of being agents for China or Russia; and in the way Biden has not lifted a finger to stop Covid or anti-trans genocide. Voting for slightly less fascistic people did nothing to stop Hitler and the Nazi Party; on the contrary, under the conditions of Weimar Germany many of them (the GSDs) enabled or even supported Hitler in order to uphold the status quo. that is what Biden, and Nancy Pelosi are doing right now, desperately scrambling to uphold the status quo, and even if Biden gets reelected, he will continue permitting fascism to grow and spread in order to protect capitalism and imperialism. Biden has thrown just as many minority groups under the bus, but people fall for his sleepy smile because he isn't as "mask off" as Trump.

Never in any nation has voting stopped fascism. If anything, electoral fetishism and overreliance on the existing systems also enables fascism. there is no such thing as a vote against fascism. Fascism is already here, and it will stay here no matter who gets reelected. If voting blue was going to do jack shit to save us, there would not have been prejudicial raids against gay bars in Seattle, Washington last weekend. This should teach us clearly that "blue" states and "blue" people will not protect us. I'm never going to tell you who to vote for and I'm never going to tell you not to vote... because voting doesn't matter. All I care about is whether or not people are engaging in direct, organized, effective anti-fascism.
