iamkale,

Where tf are all these campaign text messages coming from? I know elections are coming up but when did I consent to receive these?? And is the best way to stop them to really respond STOP to each? Seems that just gives them confirmation that a real person is on the other end.

@iamkale I have tried hunting these down for years, to no avail. In most cases, it's just impossible to reach anyone from the campaign. One said they got my info from the voter file, but you're not allowed to robotext numbers in the voter file; only a human can send texts to them. ActBlue claims not to be sending them even though the linked webpage says "paid for by ActBlue." Another said "it depends who you donated to" and "couldn't" tell me where they got my number from. Texting "STOP" may unsubscribe you from a single text campaign, but Jon Tester's campaign has texted me three times in spite of my responding STOP each time. I literally disabled text notifications on my phone and got my family members to contact me another way because of this. ISTR that if you text "delete my number," they won't text you again, but maybe that's only for the campaigns where humans are sending the texts.

Chakatodd,

@iamkale STOP
