Spent last week making a book from the cake box from last year’s birthday. I saved it saying, "I’m going to make a journal out of this," then didn’t.
At the #californiapenshow, there was a couple selling books they’d made. He was just SO ENCOURAGING about doing it. He suggested classes in San Francisco. He also suggested YouTube, which is where I ended up.
Book two is already designed. I’ll likely give it a week, then dive in.
This makes me incredibly happy. I'm glad it worked. I had a label off a jar of masala coffee from India that I tried taking off the bottle this weekend but I ended up ripping it.
You can find inspiration for book making everywhere! What kind of binding did you use?
@seanbala I am not even certain how to answer your question. The cloth on the spine was just fabric my special lady friend used to make a dress. Chipboard under the cover. Mod Podge where needed. I am seriously at square one.

Bookmaking can be so much fun. I did two courses at a local arts center and its become one of my pastimes after work - just nice to do something with my hands and to a make something myself.
