I like just about all of it, apart from the mail which throws a stream of errors that I'm not able to fix so far. But then it shouldn't be up to me to fix anything. It was fine until a few months ago.

Can you describe the issue in more detail? What kind of errors and where do you see?
In the Mail Panel, error messages can be disabled (Settings > Mail > Panel > Error Messages).
