Serious question re current word usage:

Is a reply guy basically a mansplainer?

@MelodyWainscott reply-guying covers a spectrum of uninvited interactions, not just condescension.

@schizanon

Is there a best practice for dealing with reply guys? Blocking? Muting? Ignoring?

Is there any point in engaging other than naming their behavior before stating they are now blocked?

@MelodyWainscott depends, some reply-guying is fueled by loneliness and lack of social skills. Those I tend to humor a little, especially if they are followers. But people who aggressively disagree with strangers get dunked and blocked immediately. That's some Twitter-ass behavior.
