I see it as degenerative (read as gets worse over time). Humanizing pedophiles and talking with them regularly will cause you to become desensitized to their behavior, similar to how you can become desensitized to warfare. "You know I didn't really think about it that way. I enjoy your company." etc etc Pedos entire existence is defending their existence, they have infinite time on their hands to play word games. Your environment definitely affects your development, and if yours is conversing with people who are attracted to children meanwhile you are already a sexual degenerate what am I supposed to think at that point? You could say maybe they're just being ironic.
But at what point does the facade of your personality just become your personality if you are spending your time constantly being that facade?
