@argv_minus_one @thomasfuchs yeah, the implicit assumptions in American society are basically that shareholders will do anything they can to squeeze more profit out of our economy and anyone who pushes back is a troublemaker. Everything from public policy to labor rights have been subsumed by the goal of making sure Wall Street can maintain year over year profit growth at all costs.
