100MB file copied over sshfs:

104857600 bytes (105 MB, 100 MiB) copied, 1.70101 s, 61.6 MB/s

100MB file copied over sshfs via SSH ProxyCommand:

104857600 bytes (105 MB, 100 MiB) copied, 10.1955 s, 10.3 MB/s

And that's on the local network... guess that isn't a good way to achieve transparency to the NAS. 😔
