As a kid, I always found it odd that Mister Rogers would change his shoes and cardigan when coming or leaving home.

But here I am, returned from a haircut and immediately changing back out of my jeans & shoes and back into sweatpants & flips.

He was a genius.

Mister Rogers, wearing a red cardigan, is changing shoes. He tosses one from one hand to the other.

@mlawton I have at home clothes and outside clothes. I switch into my "comfies" as soon as I'm home. Never made the connection until you pointed it out. Guess I learned this from him. 🤔

@WTL @mlawton I like the word “comfies” for these. Much better than my Day Pajamas and Night Pajamas.

@bomkatt @WTL I watch my kids go off to school in their "comfies" and now I wonder if this idea of changing into comfort upon arriving home will soon be antiquated.

@mlawton @bomkatt I've been a huge advocate for “dressing to be comfortable”. I get considerably weirder if I'm uncomfortable.

@bomkatt @mlawton I think it was @TAV that coined the phrase in our household. Comfies does sound more … comfy.

@mlawton I also have 'house' clothes. Usually shorts and t-shirt, baggy and scruffy. 🙂
