@TodePond For some reason I alternated pasting the bottom one between the left and right ones and realised like all good FoC demos it was generating the fibonacci sequence

After the first "correct" registration the next one works good.

Open a new one,
paste "Hello and Hello" (breaks it funny), then backspace until it is only "Hello" and now you can do the proper registration by typing " and Hello". Select all, then paste "Hello12 and He3llo3" it will break it right, now that it knows...

Impressive.

I think if you hold +1 history the levenshtein might work better? Way more complicated though. There must be something better than levenshtein.

@thgs i don't know what registration means? there are definitely better things, but i want to do it really really really really really really simply, with no knowledge of the operations that the user has gone through, so i think this is best. even if somethings go wrong sometimes, is simple enough to reason about

@TodePond registration was my own word for storing the previous one. I picked up on the really simple vibe yes.

And yes my direction was going towards giving it more knowledge about what was before.

I still think it’s impressive and an intriguing thought as you have it.

Two small text boxes and one big one, they're linked so changing one set changes the other. I enter a bunch of L characters and the page always puts a new L in the first small text box, rather than the second
