8,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units) is roughly the equivalent of a fresh, uncooked, and un-pickled jalapeno. So if raw jalapenos don't do anything for you, the red 2X Heat Buldak might not either.
@SynAck@chaotin Nah. I definitely feel the heat. I've eaten things that are too hot for me in the distant past. But I don't see/saw myself as someone that eats that hot so I was pretty pumped by all the "Buldak Challenge" hype as I wanted to eat more spicy.
So far every Buldak product underwhelmed me. It's extremely tasty and I love it but it's not as hot as everybody implies. ^^"
But I still think I will get pulled on the ground with this with the red one :D
@kaiserkiwi Well, as a connoisseur of spicy ramen in general and Buldak in particular, I can honestly say that the 2X Spicy ones are at my limit of what is tolerable. Having other foods like rice or stir fry along with it helps to make it more tolerable, but just eating the noodles by themselves (at least in a pre-packaged bowl container) was a contradiction of "I love this!" and "I don't think I want to do this regularly!" feelings. :kekw:
I think you'll enjoy these. I know that I, for one, was breathing black fire just like that hellspawn chicken mascot on the package. :blob_sweat:
@kaiserkiwi@SynAck i mean the package literally says "2x" so it's like 9000 Scoville or something. But I think the black one just looks more menacing...
@chaotin@kaiserkiwi Now that we're talking about it, I can't honestly remember if the "black" or "red" packaging had anything to do with it. All I know is that both of them were super spicy, but that whichever one had "2X" on it made my mouth burn with the fire of a thousand suns.
@kaiserkiwi@chaotin Well, I hope that you get the same reaction we have. I'll be a little disappointed if you come back and say, "meh, it wasn't spicy enough."

@SynAck@chaotin I'll start with the black one as I have experience with the black sauce. If everything is fine after this, I'll probably try the red one the following week.
@chaotin@kaiserkiwi I guess I never posted the picture of the black one I had, did I? Oh well.
The other difference that may or may not come into play here is that I haven't had the straight ramen noodles that you boil in your own pot. Mine came in heat-n-eat bowls so that the water level and everything was (I guess) calibrated for maximum heat. I don't know if that makes any difference, but I just wanted to point that out.
(really, I'm just hedging my bets in case you can handle spicier food than me. :kekw: :kekw: :holdthepain:)
@kaiserkiwi All I know is that the one that had "2X Spicy" on it made me cry tears of hot lava. The black is pretty dang spicy also. I've had both. IIRC, the black is more kind of a "fried ramen" kind of thing whereas the red is more of your standard ramen.
But I mean both of them are pretty dang spicy. You should make the decision as to which one of them is the spiciest for yourself. Don't just take my word for it. :holdthepain:
