box464, I'm gay/cis and in some situations, passing for whatever straight means if you don't look too close at my sparkles.
But not when I visit my rural hometown.
I know what it is to be bullied. To be dismissed by loved ones. That sinking feeling you get in your stomach when you realize you don't feel safe somewhere.
I also know that is nothing in comparison to what others continue to battle.
Safe spaces are precious things and even I forget that sometimes.
It's good to be reminded.
