That feeling when your workmates start talking about things you geek out for but you have to try and NOT be a total nerd about it to conform to the established social norms lol :blobcatderpy:

@joel Start to join in, but not show how much of a total nerd you are until you see how much of a nerd they are.

@joel Be the nerd and think less about what other people might think about you 😉 Embrace yourself!

@jle yeah but I also want to not get people out of the conversation. For example, one of them hasn't watched star wars somehow and I had to control myself to avoid spoilers—although they probably wouldn't care much xD

@joel True. It's a fine line.

It happened right now when they were talking about the movie and I was like "hmm yes I read the novel hmm, of course I don't recall their name, but it's that witch group that kinda inspired Jedi mind trickery stuff, oh yes Jedi those guys wearing robes in star wars, yes the movie with the cute orange ball shaped droid"

I'm being hyperbolic but it felt like that to me lol

caranmegil,

@joel yes, i have to test the waters often. however, a workmate and i were able to smash social norms and be total nerds.

@caranmegil I need to find nerds first aadudjqkddh
