I’m seeing a couple side conversations about the wibblur announcement implying we’re pretending to be on the FediVerse or we’re doing what other instances are. There’s two things:
We are intentionally disconnected from the FediVerse. Everyone knows you can’t safely protect your users when federated and admins spend time banning instances but you have to rely on a hashtag to help. We’re taking the step to not deal with this and focus on building a community first.
others are definitely taking the same values seriously but we are being loud about it and making it the priority. Most importantly we’re building a platform for people and architecting the organization around these values. I want to find these individuals doing it to speak and learn what works and didn’t work. We’re not doing this in a bubble.
