My computer has decided that it can connect to the network over wifi, but it couldn’t possibly connect to the internet. It’s probably the router’s fault.

Meanwhile, wifey is streaming a video and my phone is having no problem using the Internet over Wi-Fi.

And yes, I tried turning it off and on again (the Wi-Fi AND the computer)

@masukomi Well.. That happens to me, too, but seems to be a very specific issue with my Fedora Linux laptop and the Tailscale agent disagreeing on who is managing the DNS configuration.

After restarting, I always have to restart the DNS resolver, the network manager, and Tailscale.. Then it works, for some cursed reason 😂

That's a long way of saying, perhaps check what your active DNS configuration looks like when you're having the issue?

@jwarlander

we tried all the normal things including mucking with DNS and DHCP and then I started mucking with my phone's settings and IT stopped having internet ... So eventually we found our access points had system updates, and our routers had system updates (Unifi network) so we updated all the things and... 🎉 internet.

dunno why it randomly stopped working though.
