I could see him saying something like, "In a software update we'll be uploading soon, the regenerative braking will be 100% and mechanical brakes will not be activated". Simply because he heard from someone, somewhere that doing so would be more efficient and nobody can do it (because, you know, physics).

@Frances_Larina for $3000 extra you can get the brakes that stop as well as the brakes on a 1998 Subaru, otherwise only half as well.

Correction: you can unlock the better brakes that stop as well as...

Also, the better brakes are by subscription.
