Trash. Absolute trash.

You can't bring up the fact that someone spoke about being abused as a child, as ammunition in a rap beef. This will upset a lot of people. I said that there were some things that can't be unsaid.

Some of y'all know that in California prisons, child abusers and sex offenders experience extreme violence. But people don't talk about why: a very high percentage of gang youth, are survivors

@mekkaokereke

child sexual abuse is in all communities. ALL

it must be written about, read about, and talked about

the ways in which it shapes our culture are largely unrecognized because very few people are willing to talk about it

1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are sexual assault survivors (these numbers include child and adult victimization but i am certain they are too low)

when you find yourself in groups of people, look around and remember those numbers

if you're a child of the secret, then i hope you realize you are not alone

if you're a citizen, i hope you'll see us

Anyway, this is the song that Kendrick made that his rival is trying to use as ammunition to make fun of him.

Warning: talks about domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, generational trauma, hypersexuality/infidelity/sex addiction:

His rival takes an L for even trying to bring this up.

I can't tell you how badly this is going to backfire amongst real street dudes: ironically, the part of US society that is least tolerant of child abusers and their enablers.

@mekkaokereke Am I interpreting it wrong, or was he not actually sexually abused according to this song? It sounds to me like he said no, that the trauma was from being repeatedly asked and not believed when he said he hadn't been

@unlambda

There's a ton of discussion around this, and the interpretations of it. Either he was molested, and didn't remember and suppressed it until it came flooding back later, or he was not molested, but still experienced trauma and self-doubt, because his mom constantly asked him about it, because she was molested.

His point is that he recognizes this trauma in himself and in others, and how it expresses in their behavior and theirs.
